They say patience is a virtue. Ok, great. But not everybody has patience. What you really want is discipline.
Discipline is the difference between a trader and an investor. Discipline is low stress. Discipline is what make you wealthy.
This sounds great doesn’t it? And how do we do that? Well just like the title says, it’s not timing the market, it’s time in the market. To do the high stress, day to day trading you need precision timing. Ain’t nobody got time for that!
Why not follow Mom’s recipe to success in the market? We are in it for the long run, this is what helps us avoid all those emotional ups and downs when a stock fluctuates.
This is why trading sucks!
Instead, we make our educated, informed choices of which companies to invest in and ride it to our financial security. Our companies and discipline can withstand anything.
Think of the 2008 crash….and look at the market now. Let me guess, you probably sold a ton (if not all) of your stocks back then. I’ll admit I did the same. But what I learned is that you need discipline to stick to your guns and trust your companies. You chose them for a reason. I bet if you look at those same companies now, you’re probably kicking yourself. And well if those companies are still doing bad, you made an uninformed choice.
Dont’ worry, stay tuned for more posts in the future, Mom (and I) can help.
